William Norman Guthrie, 1868-1944, an Episcopalian clergyman, was born in Dundee, Scotland, on March 4, 1868. He was the son of William Eugene Guthrie and Frances Sylva d'Arusmont. His maternal grandmother was Frances (Fanny) Wright, an ardent abolitionist and feminist.
